60 minute tour & 60 minute workshop

Tour

In this tour, students will gain insights to how art can foster an understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action by visiting different exhibitions in the galleries. Students will visit artworks of various mediums throughout WAG-Qaumajuq and learn connections through thoughtful engagement with the artworks. Students will leave WAG-Qaumajuq with a deepened understanding of the significance of responding to the calls to action.

Workshop

Students will have the opportunity to further engagement with the artwork, various exhibitions, as well as the topic of Truth and Reconciliation in this hands-on art-making printmaking workshop. Students will reflect on discussions and insights from the tour and will be asked to think of imagery they would like to create to reflect these insights through creating a unique block print.
